Rhaeyn, you seriously know how to flip people on their heads and spin them around. But you won't be disappointed. I'll make sure of it. And here I was all worried about asking if I can pick up Shyir's slack. Hot Faranth.

Those pipes are an ancient mess, but I got one of the handymen to get stuff moving again, and the Smiths have it on their priority list. I'll chase them down for more info tomorrow.

Iasri, well... Hah hah. Again, hot Faranth. Yeah, today was a good day.

I guess I really do need to do something about my wardrobe now, though. Can't go slummin' it when I need to be all face-to-face with people.

In other news, the summer months have brought a huge influx of strangers into the Weyr, and the upcoming clutch will only add to that. Time to tune up those eyes and ears, and I'm not talking about a trip to the Healers here. Hey, as long as they're working and only taking their fair share... Sometimes the Weyr is just the right place for a person to be. Sure has been for me.

As if Iasri'd get me in a candidate's knot again.

Unless it's just to get me out of it. Hmmm....

P.S. Got to see Rhaeyn's legs today. They're much better look than when she was a candidate. Guess that guard training paid off.

Faranth, you'd think this was going to be the FIRST CLUTCH EVER! Shells, man, fuck off already. Such a spaz. Just sucking up to everyone so people won't figure out he's a sharding retard. We know the drill already!

You know what really pisses me off? When he sends us running all over the Weyr to cover his sorry ass for something he forgot. We get the data. We sort the data. We triple-check the data. Then he PRESENTS the data and looks like a fucking hero. I'm so tempted to get the others to help me give him something totally jacked up so he can present it all beaming and RESPONSIBLE, then end up looking the total jack ass he is.

Oh, and then there's the AWESOMENESS where he gets to promise everything to everyone, then sends us off running to make good on his word, even if his word is UTTER BULLSHIT.

Makes me want to give up the damn knot and join the messengers. At least they get to see the sun, stretch their legs, just BE.

I'm still not sure this isn't going to blow up in my face at some point. I'll enjoy it as long as I can.

Iasri used to hate me. Not all that long ago, either. Then we started talking. Then hanging out. I'd convinced myself I was reading stuff wrong and really didn't want to mess up everything. Then I did mess up. Went to apologize... then didn't leave Iasri's weyr for hours.

I'm pretty thrilled to be that close to her now, but there's still a fear in the back of my head that someday she'll hate me again. Trying really hard to keep that from happening.

I'm a little afraid to ask what V'arik thinks about it... It's not like they were together, right? This isn't like a Hold where their kid would have gotten them handfasted or something.

I don't know. These guys aren't really in my peer group anymore, and some of them still won't talk to me. It's just weird. Different worlds and all that. One day at a time, I guess.

So. My fault for assuming, of course. Just kind of thought we had something going there. Or getting there, anyway.

Guess I'm just as clueless as I've ever been.
